Our Iceberg Is Melting
"Changing and Succeeding Under Any Circumstances"
by John Kotter, Harvard Business School.
Our District Superintendent recommended this book for our pastors. John bought it and read it and receive a lot of good sound help from reading it.
This is a secular fiction meant for the business world, but it does not take long to apply the church and ministry to the allegory.
The fable is about a colony of penquins living in Antartica. One penguin swims down and realizes their iceberg is melting, but no one will listen to him or believe him. It is a story about change and resistence to change. But is the story of how to change and succeed at changing.
Another book that John read and got a lot out of is Who Moved My Cheese by Dr. Spencer Johnson. He writes the forward in this book.
