a Moose sighting!

In northern NY, 30 miles north of Albany, my folks have 60 acres of woods, and they saw a male and female! Musta come down from the mountains! We have never seen them near us before!

I've only seen moose on our land once. It was several years ago, about a hundred feet behind our house. A mother and her calf. I saw the calf first, and thought it was a large animal - until the mother stepped up the bank behind the calf. She was twice as big - nearly nine feet tall, with her ears laid back, snorting. Her calf was between her and me, and she wasn't happy. They both turned and sauntered up the other side of the stream. And I couldn't find a camera.
Today, I saw a hunter pull a nine point buck out behind our house, too. It was the biggest deer I've ever seen in New Hampshire. I would guess nearly 200 pounds. That's pretty big for Southern NH.

Oh Carol, I didnt realize that! I am from 30 miles north of Albany, in a little town called North Easton. It is across the Hudson River from Saratoga!
Doesnt Plattsburgh get a lot of snow?
Im not there now tho, my wife and I met in Bible College, and we are now near where she was born, in a place called Valparaiso, Indiana, home of Orville Redenbacher popcorn!
