NazNet has a feature that automatically creates a link out of Scripture references. A person can then click on the link and see that passage at the Bible Gateway. The default is the NIV, but following the instructions below you can specify the translation if you want.

Basically, every time a user types in a Bible Verse (e.g. John 1:1), it will automatically turn it into a link to the Bible Gateway's page for that specific verse. The filter will convert verses posted in various formats including, but not limited to: John 1:1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=John+1%3A1) John 1.1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=John+1.1) Joh 1:1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=Joh+1%3A1) John_1.1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=John+1.1) 1John_1:1 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=1+John+1%3A1) 1 John 1:1 NIV (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=NIV&passage=1+John+1%3A1) John 1:1 ESV (http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?go=Go&q=John+1%3A1) John 1:1 KJV (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=KJV&passage=John+1%3A1) etc.
