This movie is available to rent or buy at stores. John ordered it from Billy Graham association, I believe. It comes with an 8 session discussion study guide.

Facing the Giants is about a Christian Academy high school football coach who is faced with fear and failure. His team is having a losing season, his car and many home appliances do not always work, his job is threatened, etc. He reaches a crisis of turning to all over to God and God gives him strength and direction to face the giants of fear and failure and turn things around.

It is funny and tender and so deeply spiritual. It is hard for me to believe I see it on the shelves at the movie rental store...and people are renting it. God has to be using this wonderful movie to speak to people about His love for them.

Our teens will watch it in 3 segments during Sunday School and then use the 8 discussion studies the next 8 weeks.

John is showing it to the entire church on a Sunday night.

This is a movie every Christian should watch and enjoy, but every congregation needs to see this movie, also.

I agree Barb! I LOVED this movie! Did you know that all the actors are volunteers? Also many of the events in the movie are based on actual happenings.

We showed it last Wednesday for "Family Movie Night," cancelling Caravan, youth group, and an adult Bible study. We had a packed sanctuary, as most of our Caravan parents came as well. Since half of our Caravan kids and most of our Wednesday youth group teens are not otherwise connected to the church, it was a great outreach event.

I strongly recommend this movie for use in such a setting.

I second, third, and fourth that motion. It's a great film. Proves that you don't have to spend millions on special effects in order to make a good film.

Our teen Sunday School class just finished using the study lesson using clips from this film. It was one of the best Sunday School lesson series they have ever done. The teens loved it and grew spiritually from the lessons as well as the messages in this film.

The DVD with lessons was purchased from American Family Association. The lessons are not on the regular DVD you buy at WalMart.

I'll just chime in and say that my wife and I both loved it, also.

(WARNING, THE FOLLOWING IS A SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T YET SEEN IT: I personally would have liked it better if they had adopted rather her getting pregnant...)
