Brinx often comes out to the church with us on Sunday morning. He stays in the office while we are in church. He is usually as good as gold.
Well, this morning he walked over to the parsonage with his dad because we had to have some emergency repairs done to the septic tank.
Ok...dog...dirt dug up from septic area...it was a temptation.
He rolled.
He stunk.
He is now in bathtub :-)

Brinx HATES water...which made the bath even more difficult.
He'll even walk around puddles.
But a mound full of...well...you know...he heads right for.

Our dog Roy is a pain in the rear. But he is sooooo lovable. He loves to have his ears rubbed, loves to have his belly rubbed, loves to play fetch, loves his treats, and would do anything for us. He barks when the doorbell rings. Sores really loud when he's in the Twilight Zone. His favorite treat is peanut butter on his bone. In fact he has his own peanut butter jar. We love to spoil him rotten.
We got him from the Michigan Basset Rescue 2.5 years ago. He is 7 years old. He has never had an accident in the house. When we take him out to Petsmart to get his dog food and treats, everyone remarks how cute he is. And Roy just soaks it all up. After he get's his nails trimmed, they give him a really cut bandanna.
What more can I say about Roy?

Larry,
And here I thought that it was only my crazy cat that likes peanut butter. I haven't gotten him his own jar but have been thinking about it.
I like dogs but have not had one since my return to the USA to live because it would be too hard to find someone to care for a dog when I am away from home. As it is, I can leave my two cats by themselves for a weekend and if I am gone longer I have someone come in and check on their food, water and liter box.
So I take every opportunity I have to love dogs that belong to other people.:fav06

I like cats too. My cat is so strange. She will not eat anything we eat, only her cat food. We could leave a can of tuna open on the floor and she would leave it alone. However, if I buy my wife some flowers, the cat will eat them. My wife doesn't like silk flowers. (The cat chews on them too.) If I track in a blade of grass, she will eat it. I planted some catnip in the garden for her. She likes to roll on it and act silly but I can't let her eat it. Anytime she eats any kind of plant she throws it all back up :basic04 But she still loves it. We can't have any house plants. Many house plants are toxic to cats anyway. I had a cactus for a while just to tease her :basic05

We rented a farm house when I was a kid. We had a big yellow dog that we let run loose. Anytime an animal got killed by a car or died in the woods, he would drag it into the yard. A hunter field dressed a deer in the woods behind us. The dog drug as much of that as he could into the yard. I was young enough that he could jump up and put his front paws on my shoulder. His breath could be outlawed by the Geneva Convention
He was a very lovable affectionate dog and a good pet for us kids. A couple of times he got sprayed by a skunk. He came back to the house in agony. He wanted to come to us for sympathy but he would make our eyes water from 100 feet. The first time that happened we felt sorry for him. When it happened again a few weeks later, Dad said, "You didn't learn the first time, now you can deal with it yourself" and we went and visited my Aunt for the weekend :basic03
