I have seen them around town and think that one of those would be better to haul around my map, atlases and supplies than my Ford Taurus. Does anyone have one or know someone who does? Just trying to be informed if I decide to investigate further.

My wife and I looked at them last fall. They have the headroom of a fullsized truck and decent leg room for the tall guy(me) The back seat is pretty good too but it hurts on trunk(hatch space). Kinda like the space in a small extended cab truck back there. Just imagine a four door truck cab placed on the ground without a truck bed and smaller motor. The price on the ones we looked at was only $15 -17k. Less power than your average US driven car though.

We didn't buy one, instead we went with a Hyundai Sonata.
The back seat and trunk space was the largest in class and the price was very good. For a fully loaded one we paid about $20k. It is as nice as the Accords I have owned. 100,000 mile warranty too. The V6 gets about 25-27 average mpg. 24 city and 28-29 highway.

It is my wife's car mostly. I still drive my gas hogging Tundra.

I'm laughing at myself because I had to click on the post to find out what a Scion was. Now I know. Who said you can get too old to learn something new. As for me I drive a Dodge 4x4 hemi pick-up truck. And don't anyone jump on to me for driving a gas hog, my feelings get hurt real easy. I need a truck to pull our camper. I LOVE camping.
