The flowers will begin to open, this is an early phase. Once the flowers are open fully during the next two weeks, the view through the trees is closed.

This photo is taken today (or yesterday?) on Sunday, April 1st in afternoon. My friend, Mrs. v. K. in front of the same japanese cherry trees - now the flowers are opened fully. The photo before was taken on March 28th in morning.

It's hard to believe they could have bloomed much more.

I know such japanese cherries from here, where I do live. The photos do show the garden around her house in Karlsruhe. I have not been there, it is 400 km or ~250 miles away.
I think first to deep winter, to snow. Domestic cherries do look poor byside this wealth, flower bushes between many green sleeves. They will come out about two weeks later, the japanese cherries do know a more cold clima and will bloom a bit earlier.
