Selling door to door

Dennis Bratcher mention that he sold books door to door years ago to help pay his way through college. If he sold for Southwestern in Dunbar W.Va he may eaten at our place. Let me ask how many of you ever sold door to door? What did you sell? Years ago I sold accident policy door to door. One Baptist preacher told me once you learn to sell you will never be out of work.

As a child in very small town, I went door-to-door selling things like greeting cards and other gift novelties. Back in the day, I always had great success taking orders for personalized Christmas cards! By the time I was 10 or 11, I knew door-to-door sales was not for me. (A little later when I was a newspaper boy, I pretty much just delivered to existing customers and never did drum up new business.)
