We had a great service this morning. We actually had some of the guards with us that had guarded our Lord's grave!
Then came a special speaker who's sermon I translated, and we had a good lunch at our place afterwards.

All on a glorious sunny Easter Day!

Hans, dont know what you are eating but you are making me hungry already. I heard someone speaking this morning and he said "do you know why Jonah preached with such authority to Ninevah? Because there were some men there who had actually witnessed Jonah being thrown overboard into the sea. They had come ashore and maybe had went into the local pub and told the story, as a man came running in the door and heard it. He said, "well that same man you talk about is now downtown on the main square talking about repentance.
You know one reason the disciples preached with such authority, other than the help of the Holy Spirit? They had witnessed the Lords death, had seen Him put into the grave, and later over 500 of them had witnessed Him alive, a couple of them had even walked with Him on the road to Emmaus. The message is He's alive and He is coming again in great power and glory!
There is only one site where people stand in line to see nothing! That is at the Garden tomb! The stone was rolled away not so that Jesus could come out, but that we could go in and see there was noone there!

Great pictures Hans. Who was your speaker? I see he came to dinner. I just love the picture of the guards. That must have been a highlight of the service. I would not want to speak after that!

Very cool. A couple of my favorite men in the whole world in that picture around the dinner table. I'd love to have been there.

I'm glad it happened.

Love,
Brad

Hans,
I see why you have so many posts. It's because you post the same thing twice. Now I know your secret! :)

That's Nazarene General Superintendent Jerry Porter, one of my favorite people.

I'd love to have been there.

Would have been great! Sometimes we get a glimpse of what heaven will be like, meeting all those people we in life hardly had the chance to meet. Sigh.
And I told Dr. Porter about your situation, Brad, he had not heard about it yet, but he did remember you and preaching in Frisco.

The guards were great. On the right, you see the centurio. He spoke Dutch with a strong Italian accent. Even our American guest could pick that up. The tall guy on the left played on of the guards who had seen the angel roll away the stone. He played the role of the not-so-bright soldier "Idiotico"

Brad is correct regarding the speaker. His wife Toni was also with him. Two wonderful people that always make me proud of being a part of the church in which they are leaders.

Well, bless his heart, the Lord knows he has experience in praying for something like this.

And I know that he still believes in miracles, even if he didn't get the one we all prayed for in Amy's case.
