We had our portrait done not long ago. Dirk Ellis claims the amateur status to take the pressure off him, but this man rivals any pro. I am thoroughly pleased with the photo he took of my family. He gave me permission to own the digital copies to do with as I like, and I want to share it with you. This is my favorite because my Dear One is front and center.

Left to right back: Emily Metcalfe, Nathan and Miranda Patnode, Jessica and David Young.
Front: me, Joy, Andrew Metcalfe

I believe I have mentioned this elsewhere but Miranda is expecting her first child and our first grandchild in October. She asked me to scan in these images (not really photographs, I suppose), so I thought I post them here.

For years I identified the imagination of a happy family with your photos. You can not know how often I watched your 360 degrees panorama picture.

Mark,
Obviously, one of the great things you have done is raised daughters of such a quality as to attract great spouses for them and sons-in-law for you!!!

And now, it is my understanding that your son Andrew is engaged to my daughter's college roommate!

What a great family! Please give your lovely wife Joy greetings from Esther and Mike Schutz!

Carsten,

Thank you for your kind words. I daresay that my family is a happy one. What hurts the most is when we are apart from each other. But we are all in the Family and invested in the Church.

I am also glad you have enjoyed my photos.

God bless you.

My sons-in-law are still warming up to giving me the hard time I deserve. They are great men of God. (David is looking for his Call; graduating from seminary in May.)

My new daughter-in-law (to be) is a great girl too (to have attracted such a great spouse in Andrew!). ;-)

Three down, Emily to go, and we're fully into our next phase.

God bless you, Mike.
