It seems to me that there was a "box" where I could check what program to use to view pictures on the hard drive of my wife's computer.

It's a mess now and I want to use Windows Explorer to view and open those jpg files.

Any suggestions/hints/ideas?

thanx

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, you click on the Tools menu, then folder options, then the file types tab, then go to the type of file (.jpg, .tif, .gif, etc.) and change the program to the one with which you wish to open it.

If you have right-click capabilities, you can right-click on a file and select "open with," then select the program and tell it to always use that program.

I don't use 98 very much, so I hope I'm not misleading you.
