If you were interviewed about "Commercialization of the Bible", how would you repond? Would you favor a "for profit" theme park that was based on the Bible?

I can see it in my mind now:

As you enter the park, a man dressed in a snake suit would try to sell you an apple on a stick. A bit farther, you could take a ride in Noah's Ark before you pass through the belly of the whale. At some point you could climb the tower of babble and march around the walls of Jericho. Walking through the lions den might be exciting, but being thrown into the firey furnace might not be so hot. I am sure that the food court would offer Peter's Fish on Show Bread.

Would you feel differently if the park owner was going to be a Not-for-profit organization?

I think I think that it would depend on how it was done. If it was given the respect Williamsburg gives to history, was done as well as Disney does their parks, and some of the money went to compassionate ministries, I wouldn't have a problem with someone making a profit from their investment.

Dave's imagination sounds a whole lot like some children's camps I've visited.

I think I think... but I reserve the right to be convinced otherwise.

Dave,

The park idea isn't necessarily the problem...the problem is that everyone would become upset if their "version" of Biblical events wasn't represented as they see it! I can see it now, people must walk through a "dangerous" haunted house and can be rescued or "saved" by others. The Baptists would claim this proved their eternal security point while the Wesleyan-Arminians were demand that they have the option to complete the course being rescued repeatedly if needed! :)

A serious answer, I think it would probably be tacky, but like Mike says, I claim the right to change my mind if convinced otherwise.

Also, would it be required that thou speakest in the "real" version of the Bible and sticketh with King James? What thinkest thou(s)?
