Well, Ebony had an "audition" yesterday to be "the dog" in a play -- "Of Mice and Men" -- I'm sure you've heard of it :-)

Well, she got the part. The play is 4 weekends -- Thursday through Sunday -- so there will be two dogs to split the run.

The only problem is -- she is supposed to look 14 years old and be ready to DIE (which she does in the second scene, but you don't see that part!!)

Two scenes. Supposed to look OLD and feeble. We have to put mousse in her hair and especially make her tail look all ragged using mousse and gel. There's a makeup artist who is going to help us with that. This ought to be interesting!!

It doesn't pay much, but it's a "resume" job for her!

This is Lindsey's thing. I'm just the driver, who has a hard time keeping her mouth shut. I'll be learning. Ebony & Lindsey will be in a LOT of training sessions between now and the beginning of the play (May 3rd).

Has anyone seen the movie, "Miracle at Sage Creek" lately? Well, the dog in that movie is the OTHER dog in the play. One dog will do two weekends, and the other dog will do the other two weekends.

Unfortunately, I probably won't take any pictures. I won't be in the audience because I don't want Ebony to ever see me!!! Can you just see it now? LOL

And......in the second scene, the dog is supposed to be really down and sickly looking, and one of the guys ends up taking her out to be SHOT......well, we were discussing the possibility of -- what if Ebony decides to break character and get up to play with every one --- I said, well, you could always ad lib and say "IT'S A MIRACLE -- SHE'S WELL!!"

LOL

OH this is very nerve wrecking.

I'll keep you posted how she does.......it's times like this that I'm glad I'm just the driver!!!

I think she's going to need lots of makeup to look 14, don't you?!! LOL

... And to their driver!
Where do we write to get a "paw print" signature of this upcoming star of stage? (and screen... who knows where this will lead!)

I'm a bit disappointed that you won't be there to take pics. That would be a neat thing. Perhaps someone else may take a few pics, if allowed.
Maybe you could just get some rehearsal pics to post, huh?

Sounds like the Grant family, especially Lindsey, is having a fun time with Ebony.

Please keep us posted on the progress of this event.

And thanks for sharing a part of the Grant family life.

I don't know yet, Joanne -- I'll find out this week when we start rehearsing. But you can bet that I'll have camera on board just in case!!

I mean, I am a scrapbook maker after all.....we ALWAYS have cameras ready!! HA HA

Stay tuned!
