Anyone know where I can get the rules and regulations for BLAST? My daughter has qualified to continue on to Mt. Vernon, but would like to make changes to her project. It's a photograph. She isn't wanting to change the photograph, other than to enlarge it. (Which I think would abe acceptable) She's just wanting to change the way that the photo is presented. I.E. matting, framing, etc... Does anyone know if she can do this?

Denise, we are having the same problem finding information, rules, regulations for Elev8 at Point Loma for the instrumental entries.....it must be a national problem! LOL
We were told that it was all on their web site -- NOT!!!
I hope you have better luck than we have........

Denise,
I don't think she can change the photo in any way. However, two years ago Elizabeth did a painting and they recommended she change the matting before going to Blast. To change the photo is to make changes to the static item she was judged on is like re-doing the project. I know that the rules I used as a judge at Sudden Impact this past weekend are the same rules used at Blast. If I were you, I would contact the person on your district who was in charge of your local competition.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Alisa. Yesterday I couldn't manage to get it to open. I'll try again today.
On a side note. Are you related to a Ken Stoll? It seems as if he was my district Bible Quizzing director.

2. Only one piece may be entered by an individual in any one category, and no more than two in all categories. Each entry must be the same one as was entered and qualified to advance at the district competition. No repeat entries from previous years are permitted.
This means she can't change anything...because if she did, it would not be the same project that she qualified on at the District.

That's a shame. I would like to see them be able to make basic changes, but not technical ones. I.E., change frame, matting, but no editing to the photograph. Oh well, I'm not in charge, nor do I wish to be... :basic03
Thanks for your assistance!!!

By the way, the underlining and italics were not mine...this was how it was produced on the web-site.
Well, look at it as a learning experience. She'll think about those issues next year. Good luck to her!

If you quizzed on the Central Ohio District then you probably have met both me and my husband Ken. We have been involved in quizzing for over 30 years now - a few years as director but mainly quiz masters as well as keeping score at regionals.
As to your teen's project, I would ask your director about any changes because there are also requirements for matting and the ability to hang the project etc. So if those weren't done correctly - obviously (at least to me) those changes would need to be made.
