What an absolutely obnoxious display of vulgarity and expletives did her in. I don't understand why they don't make it immediate rather than waiting until June. She certainly is an example of an individual who obviously was raised without couth manners.

Jim,

The article I read said that it was a contract dispute. ABC wanted her for 3 years more and she wanted only a one year contract. To me, that does not sound like she was fired from ABC.

I read the same thing. Barbara Walters even tried to get Rosie to agree to at least one more year. I guess Ole Rosie was good for ratings.:basic04

I just heard the same thing just now on the radio. Rosie is like so many people out of Hollywood; they are funny at the beginning of their career but then they try to push their immoral lifestyle. The first time I remember seeing her was in the movie, Sleepless in Seattle and she was good in that and funny. But now it seems she has belittled herself to being arrogant, obnoxious, loud and full of vulgarity.

I'm not sure this is the right attitude to take. When I see someone living outrageously, I usually see someone who is trying their best to live a good life, but their best efforts are falling short. These are people our hearts should be breaking for. I don't believe there are any "agendas" out there being pushed, other than, at times, insecure, hurting people grasping desperately for like souls so they don't have to feel alone.

Your words are godly words showing what a Christian's attitude should be in general to people who are living outrageous lives and are hurting. And your words are true...in general.

But Rosie does have an agenda and is very vocal and public about her agenda against the president and in favor of gay/lesbian rights, among other things. Those were just the first two things that entered my mind about her.

As with many people in the spotlight...Hollywood or other public spotlights...their fame goes to their heads and they become bolder in their speaking out against their favorite protests. Fame and money often change people for the worse.

And, if you observe Rosie she is rude, vulgar and insulting in her personality and interactions with others.

She is one person I just do not watch. I do not care for her personality for those already mentioned reasons and never did think she was very funny. If I see she is on some program I already know I will not watch that program.

Marsha was not showing a bad attitude. She was expressing her opinion on this celebrity. But her opinion is truth. If you watch Rosie long enough you will see all of the characteristics Marsha described.

I'm not doubting that she is rude, vulgar and boorish. I don't like her much either. I've never thought she was all that funny. I just think that our first reaction when someone acts that way shouldn't be to condemn or put them down. We should see these people for what they are: just people. All of us are just trying to live in a way we think is best. Sometimes that drives people to do some admittedly dumb things, but that doesn't mean we come down on them with our anger. Rosie O'Donnell has been getting more and more unstable, at least in my view, over the past few years. To me that's cause for concern, not enmity.

So are we comparing a pathetic Rosie to a pathetic Cho as to their outrageous outbursts expressed by one in violent language and the other in violent action?

It's been my observation (and experience) that humor is frequently a way of dealing with pain in our lives. That being the case, it's not uncommon to watch someone who was really funny earlier in their lives become increasingly bitter and decreasingly funny as the years roll by because they've never effectively found a way to constructively process pain and experience healing. Mark Twain is a case in point. He was very charming and funny early in his career, but his satire became increasingly sharp and biting as the years went on, until at the end of his life he was a really sad, bitter man.

I guess I just do not see an enmity in Marsha's post or mine.

I have family members whom I love very much but who are rude, obnoxious and vulgar. That does not mean I have enmity toward them.

I think you misread bad attitude and enmity where there was none.

I read a GREAT quote today that moves me to pray for people and have a burden for their souls....more so than ever....
"If sinners be dammed, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for. ~~Charles H. Spurgeon

Another thing I read recently is that there is no love, compassion, etc. in Hell. That has moved me to love the unlovable, in hopes that Jesus' Love will touch their hearts and save their souls. To God be the Glory!

Should we be disqualifiying anyone's perspective because of their "agenda against the president?"

Don't we all have "agendas" of some kind? It would be a pretty boring world if everyone in the media today was lock, step and barrel with this president. Granted Rosie has said some pretty offensive things, however, if we're saying her disdain for GWB is a good reason for why she should have been shown then door, then we should just ignore most of the media in the world today.

Thank you for this quote. I love it. This is how I feel about some people who I love, who are not yet saved. Maybe Rosie needs someone to love her like this. I don't know... I never watched her show and don't really know much about her. Sometimes when people are demonstrating their worst behaviour, and act their most unlovable, these are the times that they really need the most love.
