This is my favorite dish to make for Thanksgiving.

Sweet Potato Casserole
3 c mashed sweet potatoes, 1/2 c sugar, 2 beaten eggs, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 stick melted margarine, 1/2 c milk, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix ingredients; place in 1 1/2 quart casserole dish, uncovered.

Topping - Mix in separate bowl:
1/2 c brown sugar
1/3 c flour
1/2 c chopped pecans
1/3 stick margarine

Crumble on top of casserole; bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

i made something VERY similar to this today for our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow!

my recipe included 1/2 c. oj to the potatoes, plus cinnamon & cloves

its DELISH. ;) (cook's gotta take a taste when it's done, right? even though thanksgiving's not till tomorrow???)

i do a similar recipe, too. This is usually a requested dish for me to always take to the Edwards Dinners.

i usually will add mini-marshmellos and toast them briefly.

*grins as i visulize jen sampling the dishes*

i tried to figure out how to move this entire thread and Marsha's thread regarding her salad - to the other forum. i made a mess out of Marsha's salad. So, i won't even try to move this one.

Could you please repost it in the recipe forum??

Thanks a bunch.
