Do you ever wish you could draw but don't have the skill? Do you need to draw up a plan to build something whether it is a bird house or a real house? Do you wish you had a CAD program but can't afford it and don't have the time to learn it? Well Google Sketchup is the program for you and it's free :basic01. I just downloaded it. I haven't done a lot with it yet but it looks fairly easy to use and has a lot of high tech features. If you get really good at it and decide you want to design the next space shuttle, there is a pro version that you can buy, but the free version looks like it has more than enough for me.

P.S. For you inventor types, you can even do patent searches with Google Patent Search. Then you can get credit (or blame) for that new space shuttle you invented.
