I have a good feeling about the NL this year. they have a dominant pitching staff. However, I think Charlie Manuel and the fans did only a mediocre job of putting together the rest of the lineup, so the AL Bats could still overpower the NL.

The AL still has a little ways to go to even up the all-time series record - I think they ride home field advantage to a win.

The record is 40-38-2 in favor of the NL. That surprised me, I thought the NL held a much larger lead.

Losing for two decades straight will do that to a lead.

Hey now, the NL won 3 straight from 94-96. Not saying the AL hasn't dominated, but it hasn't been "for two decades straight."

How about 1963-1982 when the NL won all but 1 game. Does that count as 2 decades straight?

Early on the AL dominated through the 30s and 40s but then the NL came on strong putting together strings of wins through the 50s through the 80s and built quite a lead in wins.

Aha, now lets start another string Nationals. 3-1 on a bases loaded double by Atlanta catcher McCann.

I was surprised to learn that was the first 3 run double in All Star Game history.
