Would any find it helpful if we added a feature to NazNet called "NazNet Forms." In the that section, we would have downloadable forms for documents frequently used by Nazarene churches. Here are some documents I could add fairly quickly (within a month or two):

An example of a Church/Pastor Agreement
Sample Church Policy Statements
Examples of Strategic Plans

I don't want to go to the effort of preparing the forms if no one would find such a feature helpful.

That might be a good resource. I just got an email this morning asking for something along this line.

I am the sunday school supt for the first church of the nazarene.... what I am looking for is a policy manual that a church may have created outlining things such as sunday school policy, van use etc. I plan to create one, but thought that someone might have already created something like that and it would save me a lot of time. I really did not know where a question like that would go...can you direct me? Thanks.

Anybody have a resource like that to share?

Yes, Dave, i think it would be extremely helpful.

i applaud the idea.

Yes, I think it would be helpful.

Not only do we not need to reinvent the wheel if it's not necessary, but somebody always thinks of something we haven't, so it's good to view what others have done.

NPH sells a notebook (one of a series in this format) that contains a variety of forms, job descriptions, policy samples, etc. However, I think we would benefit from more examples. As has been demonstrated in another thread, sometimes we don't think of the need for such material until "the horse is out of the barn." (Do you like that - we've been living in rural Pennsylvania for 4 1/2 years now!)

I think that's a great idea. RCN was big enough that it knew it needed such documents and had the in-house professional resources to develop them, but for many churches just coming to recognize the value of having written procedures, policies and agreements in place, but without peope in their local church who routinely develop such resources in their secular professional capacity, such a resource here would be a godsend.

I think this could become very beneficial for us to have a ready resource of materials like this available. Although there are likely many "book" formats available for forms and other resources, it is so good to be able to access this sort of thing on-line, then to be able to massage and customize for specific purposes ... copy/cut 'n' paste works for me.

So much better than having to re-invent the wheel all the time.

It is likely that NazNetters will come up with worthy additions to whatever you're planning and able to start off with, Dave. Presumably they would contact you to go through the appropriate steps to add a resource.

Thanks for this, Dave.

Unless you are considering putting up a lot of different samples of these forms I would shy away from it. Otherwise, too many churches may consider them "standard" forms and simply adopt them rather than adapt them.

You are probably right, but my impression is that most churches don't have written policy now. Having even a poor one to start from is better than having none at all.

Hey, Gord

Why the small print? I have to put on my glasses to read your posts. Help us "old guys" by using a larger font.

We have been updated ours, so if you want I could send you what we have on CD. At least in regards to the Nursery policy and a few other things.

I emailed the person who sent the question and pointed them to this thread -- so you may be hearing from them.

Is there any way we can set the default font size in our responses. I have looked a few times and to no avail have I figured out where this could be. I found where to set the color and font, but not the font size. YOu advice and direction would be appreciated.

Sorry folks ... on my screen my print looks normal, while Dave's and Jeremy's and Wes' look HUGE!

I guess it all comes down to how you have your browser set. Mine is set to "normal". What's yours set to?

:basic05

OK, I'll try a larger font here for the rest of this post. Like others, I'm not sure where or how in NazNet to re-set my default font size, though. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I just checked my default font size in my Firefox browser settings. I'm set to Arial, size 16. From my understanding of font sizes, that's fairly large. However, someone else may have some insight into all of this that they can share.

Thanks.

I have had the same thoughts as Dave about your posts. Had to squint or get my glasses to read your posts! NOW, however, you have moved your contributions into an arena that comforts my eyes a great deal! Thank you!

Friend,

Wes

PS. Have a wonderful weekend and Lord's Day!

I'm grateful, Dave and Wes, that you've pointed this out to me. I would never have known, otherwise.

On my screen, my font size appears about the same size as most other posts on NazNet, but definitely smaller than yours, Wes, or Dave's or Jeremy's.

I'll boost the size of my posts from now on.

I was wondering why my posts were being ignored ... no one could read them!

Here, I thought my words must have been heretical ... or sumpin' ...

:basic05

Can you hear me now??

Your posts were extremely small on mine, also, and so are Anne Hood's. All others appear a normal size except for Dave's and Wes' which appear larger.

Thanks for changing it!

Thanks, Edith. Is this new size better, or should I increase even more?

I appreciate this help.

Your new size is larger than all the others - except for Dave and Wes. It is slightly smaller than Dave's and quite a bit smaller than Wes' and is very readable.

Your previous posts with the extremely small font afforded me opportunities to do desired eye exercises. Don't laugh; I am serious. Those exercises are one way to strengthen the muscles and reduce tension in the eyes, thus improving vision. :)

You Canadians know how to 'move on a problem!"

Wishing you a blessed weekend,
