In another thread Bob Hunt was referring to Richard Foster when he said:

can someone tell me what a charismatic Quaker is? That seems like opposites to me!

Okay Bob, now you've got me thinking about other strange theological juxtapositions. Here's one:

"Fundamentalistic Wesleyan"

Can you think of any others. They have to really exist - maybe even that you can give an example.

I used to think "Free Will Baptist" was one, but one explained it to me and now it doesn't seem as strange as I thought.

Any others?

Any others?

I've run across more than a few Calvinistic Nazarenes!

I also know some Arminian Baptists. (They adhere to an Arminian theology--raised Nazarene--but have selected to join a baptist church.)

I also run across a good number of Charismatics (based on local church affiliation) who say they don't believe in tongues.

The United Baptists...which in our region of the country is an oxymoron.

Sorry, that really isn't a theological oddity, just odd.

Charismatic Catholic, Jews for Jesus

Any denomination with the word 'Free' in its name, because anyone knows that nothing at church is truly free.

Wouldn't their annual meeting be exciting? :basic05
