Now that is a chocolate fix, for sure!
As long as you do not eat the chocolate chips before you get a chance to melt them.
And you can keep licking the spoon and then the bowl.
LOL

My wife is a real chocolate junky. She gets her fix by pouring Hershey's syrup in a bowl and eating it with a spoon.

Joel,
Why waste the bowl and spoon. She should just squirt it into her mouth.
LOL
I dare not try this recipe. I cannot even make it to take to a party or meeting. I would eat it. And that is a no-no for a diabetic.
But I sure would like to make it and eat the whole thing.
By the way, Carvel Ice Cream stores have a Midnight Madness chocolate ice cream made with Hershey's syrup in it. Oh, WOW.

Yikes!
If you want to make butter pecan use almond bark. It melts better than white chips.

Joanne, keying off your signature tag, it sounds like you have found a friend in chocolate. :)
Trusting you don't have too many fudge emergencies! BTW: exactly what is a fudge emergency anyway?
Bon appetit,

Years ago I saw a TV program and also read a magazine article about women who have migraine headaches who were also chocoholics. The women told of their sudden craving for chocolate and nothing else but chocolate. In the middle of the night they would drive to a store and buy 3 candy bars and have 2 of them eaten before they got home.
Their migraines usually came just before their menstral cycle began and the craving for chocolate came at the same time.
That would be a chocolate fix. When I was "young" I always wanted chocolate the week before my period began. When I went through the change, the craving for chocolate left. I still like chocolate...it is my favorite food. LOL But I no longer ever crave it.
The doctors in that program and in the articles say that women who crave chocolate lack magnesium and calcium. The women on that program and in those articles said that when they began a diet high in magnesium and took magnesium/calcium tablets that in about 2 months their craving left and so did their migraines.
I am sure that not all migraines are related to calcium/magnesium or else scientists would have found the cure for migraines. But I guess there was a correlation between the headaches and craving for chocolate that was remedied by increasing the intake of those minerals.

There are several variations on this recipe. I have tried 4 or 5 different ones at Christmas the last couple of years. I'm not as fond of the semi-sweet chocolate, but like to mix it with milk chocolate chips. Sweeter, but not overly so. I discovered that because I didn't have enough of either kind for a full batch! You can also swirl melted marshmallows mixed with a little butter into the fudge (kinda gooey) or marble it by using white chocolate chips (you have to divide the sweetened condensed milk between them) and swirling it through. Then there's the peanut butter with chocolate on top. YUM! Again, you have to divide the milk.
OK! OK! I finally got up and went and got my recipes. Instead of typing them all out, here are the links:

You'll notice links by some of these for other similar fudge recipes, but I haven't tried any others yet.
Pick your poison, uh, I mean chocolate, and enjoy!

Well, I did because several years ago a cousin was constantly demanding that her husband get her chocolate food items (there were no migraines associated with her demands). It only lasted for nine months, though, and then all her chocolate demands ceased!
Just thought I would ask. :basic05

I like to use the recipe for fudge found on the Kraft marshmellow jar. I make it really smooth by using my electric mixer to blend the subar, margarine and milk before cooking. I cook it using the microwave method. After cooking, I use my mixer again to add the chocolate chips and marshmellow and vanilla. I pour it into a foil pan, let it cool, refrigerate, then pop it out of the pan onto a cutting board to slice. Mmmm good. Use peanut butter chips for peanut butter fudge. I've made as many as 12 batches of fudge during a Christmas holiday season before, so I've got the process down. Try my tips, I think you'll like the results.

I tried this. I am amazed at how easy it is to make and how good it is. It really does make FUDGE. LOL
I do not think it is EMERGENCY fudge because it takes quite a while to harden. LOL

But it takes less time to cook. And since it is in the microwave you are not heating up the kitchen. :)
