For those in the general public who are unaware of Idaho as a state. We have a home town and state local reporter who has often written articles about the confusion between Idaho, Iowa and Ohio. One creative individual now has suggested that he use the term Idahohiowa. This reporter, Tim Woodward, is a friend of mine who sometimes consults with me about geographical issues. Some seem to think that Boise is a suburb of Des Moines. Hi, Neighbor Joel. There are alot of other states whose names end in vowels that are not confused, is it that people are that geographically illiterate?

I always knew where Idaho was. I get kind of confused about the exact location of some of the smaller New England states but I know they are states and their general location.
I've heard it said that people on either cost tend to ignore or forget about the states in the middle. Of course with the election coming up, Iowa is getting lots of attention from presidential candidates.
I don't know if they still make license plates in the prisons or not but back in the 70's they still did. I saw one on the evening news where some prisoner had made an Iowa plate that said "IOWAY" and it didn't get discovered and was on a person's car. :basic01

Took me forever to learn Iowa . My cousin in Michigan had a jigsaw puzzle of the States . When we were kids ( she's 3 years older ) we used to put the pieces in a paper bag and by feel of the shape identify what state it was . She knew all the State capitals as well but learning the States was enough of an accomplishment for this young Canadian . Anyway we were playing on one occasion and were told to go upstairs and play ( in other words we were in the way ) and we played near a heat vent and Iowa was accidentally dropped down the vent . I knew what shape the mystery state was but not its name for many years as it never came up in our game of identifying the States . Sorry Joel !

Well, I'm not proud to say, I know even less about Canadian geography. I have always thought of Canada as a friend and I have always wanted to visit there. I'm sure I could live there quite happily.
