Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore is a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry center, non-profit, shelter that provides temporary transitional living to homeless of Boston's South Shore. It grew out of Faith Church of the Nazarene in the 1980s (which is now North Street Community Chapel (http://www.northst.org)). From the then-pastor housing homeless in the house church back then to 25 family units across the south shore, the ministry has grown and become quite effective. About 1/3 of the staff worships at North Street, and many others worship at other Nazarene churches.

Here is an article about a local woman who sought to help FHSS that warmed my day:

Bob:

They don't have a website. This is the closest thing to it:

Ed has become a great friend over the last 15 months. FHSS is very fortunate to have him and his wife, Charlie (and so is North Street!). Charlie sometimes lurks around here.

Jeremy, thanks for posting that great story of love in action. Would that more churches would take up this example.
