Edwin and Marjo had invited us for dinner on this 2nd day of Pentecost. The occasion was both Mother's Day and Father's Day combined, and something else. What "something else" was, they wouldn't tell. Now going out for dinner is rare for us, and being invited even more so. But what was that "something else"?
Well, it turned out that they had been thinking about this since both of them had left home, and they had been looking for an occasion to thank us for the way they have been raised and the love they had received. Each had written down in their own words how grateful they were and each shared that with us tonight.
You may understand that the dinner was nice (and it really was), but what they both shared was probably the greatest gift parents can get. Hannie and I consider ourselves very blessed indeed.
Below some of tonight's pictures.
