Jeremy's post on The Princess Bride made me decide to post a review of my favorite movie.
Number one on my list is, The Pistol.
The Pistol traces the eighth grade year of, "Pistol Pete" Maravich.
The movie combines many different elements.
It's a sports movie with scenes from the big games...
It's a coming of age movie as Pete grows up. His talents begin to get noticed, he deals with a bully, he begins to take interest in girls, etc.
It's a movie about the father-son relationship.
It's a movie about race relations since Pete attends a segregated school and is confronted with some issues that result.
It's a movie about change as his style and his coach's aren't a "natural" fit.
It's inspirational as it deals with having a dream and going for it.
If you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend that you do!
