Hmmm, I wonder how long before the crash you were supposed to use the bag. Were there passenger air bags, too? I don't see a brand name on the car. I wonder if it's a Volvo. ;)

As I recall we blew them up by exhaling air from our mouths when we recognized the imminence of a crash but stopping in time and running around to the front of the car to get it and get back in the car before the crash was a bit tricky. I recall that some news reports told of sprained ankles in this emergency dash.
