My son wants me to post an advertisement for his business on the small biz forum of Craig's List and am wondering who might know more about it?

Jim, I'm not the expert on Craig's List, but it is a sort of free "Ebay." The guy who owns Craig's List makes it available for free in several major cities, including Portland. My son uses Craig's List extensively. I've used it some and found it both easy to use and offering lots of products.

Friend,

Wes

Thanks, Wes, these days one has to be a bit skeptical about free opportunities but my son needs a lot of additional business to stay afloat. He has lost some major contracts lately due to plants closing or the work going out of country or in one case ConAgra of Alabama decided to buy and operate their own tool sharpening department costing him a few thousand a month which has yet to be replaced so things are sliding south. Today I spent some time on the computer tracking down the kind of businesses that would need his company's service such as cabinet shops, picture framing shops, finish carpenters and restaurants. He is the one for whom I requested prayer awhile back on the Praise and Prayer Forum.

The Craig's List community is quite loyal. Depending on the strength of the network in his area, he could do quite well advertising there.

In some cities, especially along the West Coast, you could find and furnish a house and get a job, a pet and a dogwalker all on Craig's List. I think it's a great expression of community.
