An excellent search engine for biblical or ancient source reference -

Last night while doing research on the Jerusalem Perspective website ( http://jerusalemperspective.com/ ), I stumbled upon an excellent search engine..."Reference Search - Explicit Searches on Implicit References."

ReferenceSearch.org’s engine indexes biblical and other ancient references found on web pages. The user simply types in any biblical or ancient source reference (e.g., Gen 2:1-3, Luke 11, Avot 2:9) and click Search. Most abbreviations accepted.

You can see a list of references (Bible, Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, Talmud, Mishna, etc., DSS, Historical Works, Books) that are currently indexed at this link.

The Jerusalem Perspective website can be searched using the reference search engine. Instead of searching "by keyword or phrase" choose the "by Biblical or Ancient Reference" option. *the JP site is an excellent paid subscription site with a limited amount of free articles

I love the places in my Bible that I have flagged with a question mark...a symbol I've placed indicating my desire to revisit the passage and plunge into it...diving deep... following the path of discovery as far as I can. Right now I am digging into several unrelated topics...Biblical paradox as truth, Jesus' use of known/common rabbinic parables - specifically right now the Rich man and Lazarus, and the enigmatic fiery seraph lifted up on the standard in Numbers 21:9.

Blessings,

Cynthia

Here are two screen prints off the site...one showing a partial list of indexed references availible and the other an example of search results for Numbers 21:9.
