The Historical Society in our community hosts free movie nights where they show movies that were made in our mountain community. Tuesday night is going to be "Almost Heroes" with Matthew Perry and Chris Farley. Has anyone seen this movie? My nephews (9, 12 & 14) will be visiting and I was wandering if it will be appropriate to take them to see it. They don't say what it is rated and I am leary because of Chris Farley being in it, but it looks like a funny movie.

I've seen this one. I like it a lot. It's not fantastic as far as comedies go, but it was entertaining to me.

I don't know your nephews, their level of maturity or any specifics, but I'm guessing you probably don't want to watch it with them.

It's certainly irreverent and the only line I remember, while hilarious, was more than a little crude.

In my estimation, if you like that sort of comedy, you'll find it funny and I know your nephews will love it. However, I'm guessing none of you would feel comfortable seeing it together.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks Ryan,

I will probably give it a miss and take them to see Rattitoui instead. There's another free movie next week that will probably more appropriate.

By the way, the line is funny because of Farley's amazing timing and delivery, not necessarily because of the crudeness of the content.

If I was by myself I would probably go ahead and see it, even if just for curiosity (I like watching movies that were made up here and trying to pick out places I recognize) But because my nephews will be with me it is best to be cautious.
