I just happened by the fennel plant in our yard and saw this Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly right after it emerged from its chrysalis.

Well, I did have to hurry and get the camera before the flutterby flew by.
Actually, I knew it would stay there because it had to pump up the wings and prepare to fly.

And yes, this IS fun, but it is just practice. I am looking forward to being in the mountains of Colorado. There are many images to capture in that area.
