This is the fourth in the Die Hard series that has made Bruce Willis a lot of money over the years. He returns as an aging John McClane, who is given a seemingly innocuous assignment that ends up with a member of his family held hostage and the fate of the civilized world resting on his shoulders much like the other films.

Unlike the other films, this one was done with a PG-13 rating. I went in skeptical as I could see no way to make a Die Hard movie without the gratuitous profanity. Come to find out, I didn't miss it at all. The witty script and fantastic supporting cast made up for the lost dialogue. I've never felt showing a head getting shot of was necessary, so while there was a lot of blood, the lack of actual on screen death was a plus as well.

Obviously it's an action movie. The villain is played by Timothy Olyphant (the guy who looks like the guy from the Las Vegas TV show, but isn't him) to full megalomaniacal effect. Justin Long (mac from the apple commercials) plays the computer hacker sidekick masterfully.

It was a fun watch and even my mom and dad (who went last night (loved the film). It might be the best of the series (and might even be better than Transformers).

Cool! Thanks for the review. My boys and I are looking forward to seeing it. The previews look very action-packed. It should be fun.

I won't expect to find a video clip for church in it, though. I don't expect a lot of meaningful introspection ;-)

We'll be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean #3 next Tuesday. I have similar expectations regarding the depth of the story, but I do expect a lot of funny moments as in #2.

Hans if you don't stay to the end of the credits on Pirates you miss something important to the movie.

So be it, then.

Hans,

I was just letting you know this because the end of the movie isn't actually shown until after the credits. I don't know why they did it this way, maybe it was to get people to actually read the credits. My son's girlfriend told us we had to stay so we did and we were the only ones in the theater who actually saw the end of the movie. But if it doesn't matter to you how the movie really ends then,"so be it".

Glenda, now you're telling me what it is, I'll stay. Thanks!

Hopefully they won't make a liar of me now by changing the format.
