I currently drive a 1999 Honda Civic with 120,000 miles.

My dream would be a vehicle that I didn't have to constantly ask, "What is that noise?"

I no longer dream about vehicles.

I drive a 1997 Tacoma Pickup Truck. I have been thinking about replacing it, but can't find enough wrong with it to justify replacing it.

I guess I don't dream about owning vehicles much any more, but for several years I've thought kinda longingly about owning a PT Cruiser.

Right now, I drive a PT Cruiser. Thank you, Craigslist.com.

Anything that runs reliably. I started with a 50 Studebaker and now have a 2000 Taurus with 122,000 miles on it. I have also owned a Fiat and a Yugo by necessity not by choice.

Jim, the car I traded for my present car was a '96 Taurus with about 126,000 miles on it. The transmission had started to slip and that's what prompted the trade. Tauruses (Tauri?) are great cars, I've had 3, counting a Mercury Sable, but the transmissions tend to go at 120K-140K miles. :basic04

I drive a 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan, and I plan to keep it forever!! When the engine dies, I'll probably just get a new engine. I do NOT like the body styles of the newer versions, and I do NOT like SUVs. SOOO, I'm keeping what I have!

It fits me perfectly, it is the perfect dog-mobile, and I still enjoy driving it after all these years!

I don't have a dream car. Unless it's the one I have now!!

We probably will get another car within the next year or so since Lindsey will be driving.......but the VAN stays with MOM!!!

edit: We also have an older Acura Integra (also a 1992) that Bert drives. We gave Tyler our newer Saturn (2000) because we like the older cars better!! He is still driving it, and since he is an auto tech by profession, he'll probably keep it for a few more years! :end of edit.

Dream? A car I'd dare go X-country in ... do not wish to remain in this climate "forever!" [Michigan winters ... stink! well, no, things can't "stink" much when it's that cold out ... but they sure can get nasty!]

SOMEHOW have to get back to where it's warm, tho' this might sound a bit odd at the moment, considering our 95F yesterday and I'm-not-sure-what today, tho' it definitely was a hot/muggy one ................

OK, had to return to edit, as I have had "dreams" in the past, tho' now I basically want reliability ... and room (perhaps a van?). When not yet driving (pre-15-16), my dream was a 'vette (Corvette, if anyone doesn't know) for sure. Well, years later I got to drive a friend's 'vette, so I "got over that." ;)

The next time I think I really "dreamed" was in seeing things like a lot of Mercedes (especially recalled the S560 convertibles I'd see) out in southern California. 'Knew this gal who had one that was still rather good at 25 years old, so I decided, "Hey, they're reliable, too!" and one could "turn my head" rather easily. Still rarely see them here up north; people don't want to spend that much, I guess, on something that would be susceptible to road salt, unless they could afford both a summer & a winter vehicle.

Since I saw Durangos while driving the '86 Bronco II (which is now gone ... sold several months ago), that's what---lookswise, & having had Chrysler products before (Volare' & Laser)---I notice. However, having heard of several recalls for this or that, I'd be careful to make sure all such items had been taken care of were I to find one of these affordable.

Oh, yeah ... then I recall seeing the Lincoln SUVs---Navigator ... Aviator---definitely dreams at Lincoln prices!! With the gas going up, a lot of SUVs are for sale now, it seems. Cadillac even has an SUV now, I've noticed ....

Anyway, since I don't have enough to replace some "as is" older vehicle, please do help me pray that what I do find as a replacement for the Bronco is reliable enough that I don't end up with none. Thanks! ;)

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I will have this one paid off in October and really need to get a different type of vehicle for my map and atlas sales so my older son is on the watch for what he thinks would be a good vehicle for me. I'm thinking a smaller van that gets good mileage if there is such. At present I am paying nearly $40/wk for gas to cover my sales area. Anyone got any recommendations?

Mike, I find in the 1972 BNC annual a Freshman who is listed as Mike Woolridge but not with the d that is in your name. Has the spelling changed or is that you? I don't believe you had a class from me but I do believe I remember you as a member of the student body if that is you.

That would be me, Jim. One of the d's was probably left out-it usually is :(. What did you teach? I don't remember any classes from you. I'm a Poli Sci major, also took quite a few psych classes.
Have you considered a Ford Escape, either regular or hybrid? I've read they're a good fit both physically and economically for people who need extra room but don't want the hassle and expense of a big SUV or truck

Obviously you escaped me for Dr. Gresham for American Government for your Freshman course. He was the chairman of the department but gave me high praise for the level of my course as being close to his based on test scores. The difference in my course was that one of the three classes each week we had what I called panel debates in which students would volunteer to participate in the pros and cons of various issues. It was my way of trying to make sure as the students gained full active citizenship that they would know how to really investigate the different sides of issues and then vote their conscience on sought out truth and not just accept what they heard or read.

Mike, did you marry someone from BNC?

Jim, I tested out of some hours and I think American Government may have been included. I took a class called Legislative Process at SNU. As a part of the class we were allowed to sit in on some of the committee meetings in the OK legislature. I was assigned to a committee on prison reform. It was very interesting. I'm thankful to SNU for teaching me HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
I didn't meet my Mrs. at SNU. After I graduated I returned to TX and started working. My wife grew up in the Seattle area. Her family went to the Church of God (Anderson, IN). She graduated from Warner Pacific College (now University) in Portland, OR with a degree in Sociology/Social Work. After graduating she took a job and moved to TX. We met at the Church of God my parents were attending at the time. After we married, we attended the Church of God for a time, then went to the Nazarene church.

I always wanted the General Lee. Not the one that is bent in half after the jump, but the one that is all nice and in good shape in the scene after the jump scene.

right now we have a 99 villager and an 02 zx2.....which will be my daughters in a few years.
