Last year I posted pictures from the first Good-Guys car show in Nashville.

The show returned this year June 29 to July 1. I went on Saturday and spent about 4 hours. I overheard someone say there were over 4,000 cars on display. That is one big car show!
I’m posting a whole bunch of pictures. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to explain each one. If I have time, I’ll come back and fill in some blanks later.
Enjoy for now.

Hey Jim -- Thanks!!
When we had the first Women's Retreat, I was the only one who wanted to go to the Muscle Car Museum. I have grown to enjoy looking at old cars! I guess being married to one who loves them and giving birth to another one who loves them, it has grown on me!!
I send this thread to Tyler -- he'll love this. Thanks for posting them!!

They’re called “Rat Rods”
It’s a little hard to explain, but you could call it a sort of rebellion against the highly polished mega-bucks works of art that are often on display at car shows.
Back in the 1940’s and 50’s young enthusiasts would take an old car, strip it down to it’s bare essentials and put in the biggest engine they could find. You might have seen a ’33 Ford with no fenders and a Cadillac V8. The object was to go fast, not look pretty. These cars came to be known as “Hot Rods”.
Over the years hot rods and custom cars have evolved into big business. There have been quite a few cars created by custom builders with thousands of man-hours and costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. These are often polished to perfection and never driven except from their enclosed trailer to the display turntable. Very few people can really afford something like this.
A few years ago some folks started building cars from rusty hulks as a tribute to those original hot rods. They are seldom painted. They might have a beer keg as a gas tank and a blanket for seat covers. Floor boards can be created from an old road sign. These cars have come to be known as “rat rods”.
Now this has become a trend. They are cheap but always creative. There seems to be a competition to create the absolute worst-looking car you can but still function. If it gets wrecked, you don’t have a big investment.
Personally, I prefer something with shiny paint and nice upholstery. But they are rather interesting to look at.
