I walked the streets of San Francisco this afternoon/evening. There were but a few tourist so the Wharf was relaxed and rather quiet. Met a homeless girl named Yolanda..we visited about why she finds herself in life spending nights on a park bench and what are her options and how it feels to sleep nights in a Shelter. You will see another homeless person in my photos, however I made no attempt to visit with him.I was a true tourist and bought a sweat shirt with San Francisco slashed on the front. Spent TOO long on a bus trying :oto return to the parking garage. I boarded the bus going the opposite direction,so opted to ride the bus for the entire route. I must say it is one way to see the city.
Enjoyed a sumptuous bowl of clam chowder served in a San Francisco sour dough bread bowl. Does this wet your appetite? Them you need be with me for the stop at a fresh fruit stand on HWY 101.
"I BRAKE FOR BING CHERRIES!" The cherries and strawberries are fresh from the fields. Some other time I will share a story of my GI patients and Bing Cherries.
I did not go near the Golden Gate as had not a cable for low light photos and also needed to stay in the same quadrant as were I parked my car

One can hike a mountain on San Francisco's steep hills and i feel like this describes me. I am tired and need to get to bed.Tomorrow is my first ride (and maybe my ONLY ride) on a highway on a Harley. A nurse Vietnam Veteran asked me to accompany him to the Veteran meeting in Santa Cruz..about and hour drive from my place. After I accepted I learned he drives/rides a Harley to these meetings. I told him (reluctantly) after the spill on my bro-in-laws bike last week, that I would try this one time. If it is not fun or is scary why do it?

Will have to let you know how the ride goes

Good night

This is a photo of the girl I visited with, bought her dinner and had a nice conversation. The guy street person I chose NOT to visit with him. All of the street photos were taken in a rush as I was eitheron a bus or standing in the middle of the street. Tried to show in the photos just how steep are the hills of San Francisco..one really has to hike them to understand. Took no photos of the night bus ride as it was dark.

The distance between land and "The Rock" doesn't seem to be THAT far, but I know it is. Beautiful pictures!

picture # 1 all I can say is YUM!

I can't believe you climbed those hills. I drove up that same hill I think. Is that telegraph hill?

I have had the clam chowder in the sour dough bowl...yumo!

As always, your photos are beautiful. Thank you for letting me travel through your camera lens.

Hello Friends

Thanks for the comments and compliments..however
i consider these photos less quality..as the day was
overcast..a did not lend to good photos.so i chose to focus
on the people and ..the lay out of the streets..and the
way people/autos survive the historically steep hills of San Francisco.

Marsha..i am tired! feel like i just climbed every mountain.

did NOT ride on a Harley to Santa Cruz as the local news last night reported of a man located by a helicopter rented by their family

He had been missing for three days and was found in some brushes down a ravine where he had an accident on his motorcycle. Both of his legs were broken. He had been there unnoticed for three days. This gave me pause and I have decided to not ride on a motorcycle again..at least at high speeds on an interstate

back to work today ...the lesser of dangerous venues
