Just great, easily one of the best animated movies I've seen.

A super-villain gets upstaged by a young up-and-coming supervillian. In his attempt to exact revenge he adopts three children. The misadventures that occur after this event form the rest of the narrative. A film for all ages. Steve Carell is the voice of Gru, the upstaged supervillian and Jason Segel is the voice of Vector, the up and coming supervillain.

Kids will love it for physical humor and the minions.

Parents will love it for the message.

I loved it for the physical humor, minions, message, and some really great one-liners.

It beat out the Twilight movie in the box office, (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/celebritology/2010/07/weekend_box_office_despicable.html) if that tells you anything.

I ended up liking the movie, but I thought it took FOREVER to get going. At the halfway point, I just felt it was SPY vs. SPY for a new generation. I never liked SPY vs. SPY, so I think it was just a taste thing. But by the end I loved it. Totally worth the money. We saw it in 2D, and there were parts where I thought to myself, "This would be great in 3D."

EDITED TO ADD: Jeff Scott wrote this by accident on my computer (Jeremy). Surely this won't help with people confusing the two of us.
