Knowing that many of our churches sponsor sports teams it would be interesting to find out from the various participants just how your church teams are doing in their respective league competition. How many are won through this outreach?

everything is going good at Jackson First,

We have 2 Mens Softball Teams, which I coached both teams.

Monday Team was 6-4 on the season, we started the season
0-3 and finished very good. We finished 2nd place in the end
of the season tournament losing 8-9 in the championship game.
The game took place about 3am, tournament started at 7:30pm.

Tuesday Team was 9-3 on the season, also finishing 2nd place
in the end of the season tournament.

We will complete our season August 18th in the Michigan District
Softball Tournament in Battle Creek, MI.

Softball is huge in michigan and the midwest. We have a number of large softball complexes in our area, that have leagues everynight of the week and tournaments every weekend. I know several people that play 4+ nights a week, I just play 2 nights. In the 2 leagues we play in 12 teams each
from area churchs, I think 3 churchs have 2 teams.

Our softball team finished in last place in our 12 team league.

At the beginning of the year the league decided that all the teams would make the playoffs.

Our team, decimated by injuries during the season, as the last seed, made it all the way to the semi-finals, winning more games during the playoffs than they did during the regular season. We knocked off two of the top three seeds.

I guarantee that they will change the playoff format again. Can't have them Nazarenes messin' with the rightful place of the Presbyterians and Pentecostals!:fun17

(For you ENCers out there, our team was coached by our youth pastor and former Crusader baseball player Jason McGehean.):fun09
