One of the most interesting websites I have seen lately is the Wayback Machine Archive. They have archived websites from "way back!"
Not everything is available and some graphics are missing, but you can read the NazNet forum from 1997. Look about 2/3 down to find a huge "foreknowledge of God" thread! The forum is archived at: http://web.archive.org/web/19970321235824/www.naznet.com/wwwboard2/
The whole NazNet archive is at: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.naznet.com
Of course, you might want to visit other websites from years gone bye -- the general page is: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

Thank you soooo very much!
i had lost all my Victorian Rose posts - perhaps, now i can retrieve them.
i wonder if my own personal website could be found. Lots of stuff there i would love to resave. Sadly enough, i don't even remember the name of it.
Oh WOW!
Thanks a bundle.

I seem to be having some problems with this archive.
Most months take me to the same discussion board. Some boards aren't availalbe, just the main page, and when I click on a post it isn't always there. I would like to know what it was about NPH that made me laugh many years ago but I can't open that post :-)
It is neat to see some of the names again.

Actually, i began to have problems, too, Barbara - so i went to prune in my over grown garden again.
i found the link that i posted in the stressor thread by accessing from one of the main pages links. i agree - most of the time it tells me that the link isn't available.

Wow! Have to take a look-see, too. Perhaps I can see my old angelfire page from long ago ... tho', I'm guessing that since they now charge, it's probably wiped out ... can't recall the exact addy, so might find it ... but then might find it an empty link, too! ;) [started about April '98, a few months after Danny died (Dec '97), when someone asked me if I wanted a modem (in my 16MB memory computer), so they put in a 28kbps modem ... only half as fast as the modem I have today ... 56kbps. ;) gs

Memories! We've come a long way baby! :) As I read the posts from 1997 I couldn't help but smile a lot. As Archie Bunker sang "Those were the days" my friends. :)

I sure do miss reading Dennis's posts. He really did do a lot to help NazNet to grow as it did. http://web.archive.org/web/19970618092738/www.naznet.com/wwwboard2/messages2/1296.htm

Wow! That's amazing. What memories. I'm so glad that exists. Thanks so much for posting it, Scott.
Manley Kjonaas, or however it's spelled, was, I believe, our oldest NazNetter. He has a post somewhere near the top of the first link you gave in your post. He was 88 years old, or something like that, when he was posting.
Love,
Brad

I just found some old "Sandbox" threads. I feel so foolish now looking back on that. I can't believe I could be so silly! :)

I have enjoyed reading the archived page. That was about a year before I started posting on NN. Many many names are no longer on naznet. Some just don't post anymore like Paula Karr and Dennis Bratcher and Joe Hittle. We miss them. I particularly enjoyed reading and seeing the friendliness and love and good natured posting. Also, that was when we could post under a fictious name, which in good fun is nice.
Thanks Scott for bringing this to our attention.

Could it be longer than a few days, please? Afterall, if one is going to try to read all the archives [or at least those before I found the internet], it will take awhile, having other things to do besides reading archives. ;)
Thanks for keeping the archives, BTW ... neat idea!
Also, realized there've been plenty of times I've been off-line, too, so will try to catch up on those times, too. ;)

I don't understand this. I have looked on about 15 pages above (by the way thanks for posting this, brought back a lot of memories as I read through them), I can not find a foot print of mine on any of the pages nor in the directory. Yet i know that I posted during these lists. I remember the logo changes, the page lay outs and most of the posts. I can't believe that I was a lurker for so long a period of time. I was for a bit but I am sure that I started posting in late 1997. I moved to Andrews in July 2005 and I got my computer in the fall and Naznet was one of the first places I found on a search for Nazarene. Is it possible I just didn't get picked up on these particular lists and hadn't registered in the directory, because back then I think you had to register yourself to be listed.
I can remember when we made the change to the Ceilidh software, I remember getting all those apache pages when things went wrong too. I remember the first logo (NazNet.com) as well the one with a keyboard on it.
My son Wes went to SNU in 1998, fall semester. I remember asking Wanda VanWinkle (Sorry Wanda if I spelled your name wrong) to give him a hug for me. That was in October maybe.
So I hope you can find a page somewhere that lists a post of mine in 1998 or 1997. I know I was on before Jennifer was as I remember clearly her first post. I asked Wes if he knew her and he had a class with her.
I can also remember when Naznet started having helpers for you and different boards were started.
So, I know I have lost some of the gray material on the top of my head but I hadn't thought I had lost that much. :) I am just a bit confused is all, it'll get better with a good nights rest.:p:p
I just remembered this too. We had the Steel's at our home for Easter in 1998. We met on Naznet and had them back for Thanksgiving that year too. BTW She can really sing, Hi Beth!
I am going to try to get one of my old hard drives up and see if I have the correspondence with the Steels and others on there. It will give me a bit more peace of mind. Am I loosing it?
Thanks for your help Dave. You have been a good friend over these years.

I remember. Surely my coworkers thought I was crazy when I went into the hallway and told the young man I had a hug for him from his dad. :-) I also remember you and the whole family coming by and bringing my first taste of Vernor's ginger ale after Joe Hittle touting its goodness.

So, what was the "Vernor's" verdict, Wanda? ;)

Walt, I don't know how they pick which ones to archive. In fact, I am surprized at how much they keep. They must have a really big hard drive, because they keep archives of a lot of different sites.
