We rented Steven Spielberg's exploration of the very real events that happened after the tragic Olympic hostage taking at the Munich Olympics in 1972. The acting and directing is pretty good, certainly more powerful and mature than anything previous from Spielberg. Some powerful themes and realities, although there is a fair measure of pretty graphic violence. It's certainly a real portrayal of the effects of this sort of stress on people.

He also presents views on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict from many sides. It certainly seems to be more of a pro-Israel movie than an anti-Iraq war movie, but the parallels are certainly real.

I thought it was pretty good, although the plot is a bit hard to follow.

I just watched Munich. I also watched the director commentary prior to the film and found it enlightening.

The scene contrasting Israeli and Palestinian reactions to the Munich massacre reminded me of the scenes of people (black and white) watching the O.J. Simpson verdict.

I found the backdrop for the final scene poignant.
