View Full Version : Asking again re: multiple pages open, Firefox 3.6.8

I can no longer have multiple pages open with Firefox.
For instance, there are times when I'd like to have one page open - checking the lyrics of hymns - and another to listen to a sermon - (attempted that yesterday). It must be one page or the other...not both.
Can anyone provide me with the exact settings to allow that?
Thanx

From the Tools Menu, choose Options.
Click "Tabs"
I have the 1st, 3rd, and 4th options checked.

I don't seem to have a problem with it. My first instinct would be to tell you to uninstall then reinstall Firefox. If that doesn't work, then I would report it in their forums. If you leave enough details, then someone is bound to fix it.

I'm not sure what you are asking Nelson. Do you want to be able to see both pages at the same time?

I'd like to have the option of simply tabbing to another window/page or two that I have open in the background - I've made the suggested changes and it is still not working for me.
boo-hoo!
how sad am I?

Nelson, for the life of me I can't imagine a situation in which Firefox doesn't have tabs. That's the reason for Firefox's existence! These days IE has finally caught up and has tabs of it's own, and they are built into Chrome, but tabs are still Firefox's claim to fame and it takes some doing to disable tabs in Firefox.
I don't know why you don't have them, but you might want to install the Tab Mix plus add on. It gives you many more tabs options and just installing it may fix whatever is wrong with your installation. You'll find it at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

color me dumber and a box of cat hair, I guess.
I still cannot figure it out.
Please note the attachment.
At one time, with Firefox, I could have multiple web pages open and simply click the tab shown in the task bar where I've added HERE.
But now? One page and one page only.
Woe is meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Nelson Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Nelson, what happens if you click on the + next to the open tab?

PhotoFiltre - it's a free image editor. Has lots of good features.

Nelson, in the tab bar, is there a little "+" to the right of the open tab title? If you click on that "+" you should get a new window where you can open a new page.
You can have any number of these new pages open.
See if that works.
Also, if you right click on a link, you should be able to "open in a new tab".
