My mother wants to give her brothers something special for Christmas. She wants to give them something they can always keep and know that she gave it to them. Her reasoning, she said this may be her last Christmas. Of course, when she said that my waterworks began to flow.
But, I want to try to honor her request. The thing is that I have no idea what to give them.
Any ideas??

If she has some pictures from their childhood, etc. she might have time to make small scrapbooks. They come in a 6-inch size, with only room for one or 2 pictures on a page. Scrapbook stores would help with embellishments.
My Mom made scrapbooks for her brothers that she gave to them when all the couples took a Mississippi cruise together for New Year's 2000. It wasn't her last Christmas, but the next one was. My uncles cherish the scrapbooks. The first few pages were the same--pix of their ancestors, then she added pix of them and their families that she had taken over the years...some they had never seen.

If she doesn't have time to do a whole scrapbook - is there a picture of her and her brothers that could be duplicated and framed - maybe with a poem about family?
Is there some item in their history that she could get them? One Christmas my mother gave me and my brothers Yogi Bear banks because my parents had one when we were growing up that they put their change into - that money was what helped pay for college tuition for us kids. We were all very familiar with good old yogi - she didn't go so far as to leave off the heads on the banks (theirs has been gone for a long time - barely remember it having a head). If no time to actually get something - maybe pictures of special somethings that surround a poem about the shared things in our lives. (whenever I see the pink lozenge candies I think of my grandfather)
Along the same lines - a cherised book or story - getting copies or writing it down.
A letter to each reminising on what she considers special about their lives and what they have meant to her

Wow, I had the very same ideas.
How about a framed letter that she writes and you print out on the computer on Christmas stationery: a letter of her memories of growing up with her brothers?

Another thought that came to mind was favorite songs - putting something together in that vein or using the words instead of a poem as mentioned above.
