So, can my husband play a game that requires this:

CPU 800 MHZ or faster
RAM 256 MB or more
9.8 GB
8x faster DVD-ROM Drive

On a laptop that has this?
4 - M CPU 2.40GHZ
2.39 GHZ
496 MB of RAM
Toshiba DVD-Rom SD-R2412

I don't want him to open it up and install it if it isn't going to work on his laptop.

Barbara, I am not an expert either, but I think as long as he has the 9.8 GB left on his hard drive, it should work fine.

yes, 1GHZ =1000 MHZ and you have almost twice ram needed. It will come down to how much free disk space is left on the laptop. Games sure have grown as 9.8 GB is a lot of disk space for a game.
