Jesus U and other gimmicks

While driving yesterday, I passed a sign that read "Jesus U," possibly indicating a week of vacation Bible school. I did not notice the church denomination.

Do other religions than protestant Christian have all the various events planned to attract people to come to church?

Jewish.
Greek Orthodox.
Buddhism.
Catholic.

I don't recall seeing advertisements for these religions for this type of thing. Or do they simply promote religion within their families?

At least some of the religions you mentioned simply do not do promotionals. They simply have no "great commission" in their traditions. That is, sharing the good news is not a part of their belief system. (Which is one reason they see our evangelistic efforts as being intolerant, etc. Their core theology has no impetus to spread as Christianity does.)
