An idea by the Nordelbische Kirche (a landscape in north of river Elbe, in north of the town Hamburg, it does not include the former country Schleswig and not "South Tondern" (South Tondern was danish unto 1864) - the country between two seas, northsea and baltic sea)

French bon = good, "Bonbon" is used for all kind of such sugars.
It is a reminder to the german Reformation Day. Reformation Day was for long times the last October, October 31st as the day, Dr. Luther should have nailed the 95 thesises on the castles church door in Wittenberge. It is no more an official holiday (in countries with a majority of lutherans, it was a holiday per law. In Brandenburg, Mecklenburg - Vorpommern, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt und Thüringen - former countries of DDR - it is still an official holiday).
So people do have a clear choice.
