What can that be,
with one nose, three legs and four corners?

Sometimes its flowers are moved by the wind,
but always it does look to right.

I don't know about the face, but I recognize the legs from the coat of arms and flag of the Isle of Man.

Did you know, the Isle of Man was never under the crown of an english king?
Ireland was, Scotland was - but not the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man

To be correct, the Isle of Man is owned by the crown, but not a member of the United Kingdom and not a province of Great Britain - and this last point makes the Isle of Man not to be a member of Common Europe. The parliament of the Isle of Man is one of the eldest of the world, maybe the eldest - it bases on the very same rights like the first parliament, erected by the Wikings in 9th century. This present parliaments existance was not changed during the centuries, the Isle of Man was part of the Kingdom of Norway.

The Isle of Man - a political one and only exception, a curiousity with a very special status inside Europe.

O Land of our birth,
O gem of God's earth,
O island so strong and so fair;
Built firm as Barrule,
Thy throne of home rule makes us free as thy sweet mountain air.

Anthem of the Isle of Mann.
