I know Halloween is the "Bah! Humbug!" holiday for many but it can be fun. Here's a little Mannheim Steamroller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8w_BOPOcHI)"treat."

While on the subject, on the old board few seem to frequent nowadays, they're asking about Harvest Festivals, etc ... alternatives to this "holiday" (definitely not "holy" ... whence "hol(y/i)day" comes).
So, tho't I'd just transfer a couple of ideas here, in case anyone likes the idea(s):
*******************************
What I've done before is a couple of things:
(1) found some cartoon-type tract (but w/a simple message, in spite of its cartoon-type nature--kids like 'toons), to toss into the bag with the candy,
or
(2) at other times have typed up a very short verse about LOVE (we've spoken much before on NN re people being drawn in w/love, not condemnation), taping it to each whatever passed out to the kids that come to the door. ;o)

PS * There are elements of Halloween that I don't appreciate at all, either ... the ghoulish things ... skeletons, etc ... the "spooky" things. But I can handle a cute smiley-faced lit-up pumpkin, which lets kids know they can come to your door [for the above items] ;o) gs
