is about the life story of the husband of one of my wife's teaching partners here at Lowell Elementary School in Boise.

"Music Within' is based on the inspiring real-life story of Richard Pimentel (Ron Livingston/actor) a primary activist behind the Americans with Disabilities Act.

After serving his country in the Vietnam War, Richard loses his hearing after a stray bomb explodes in his bunker. On his return home, he witnesses first hand the discrimination towards vets and the disabled community. He sets out to change people's perceptions by fighting for equality and helping to begin a movement that culminated in the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This act has helped improve the lives of disabled people around the world, including his own." Two other main actors are Melissa George and Michael Sheen.

I have never entered this forum before and I hope my mother in Heaven does not disqualify me from joining her there for doing so but I just thought I would pass along this to those who might be interested in the films' origin.

Thanks much, Jim. As a musician, "Music of the Heart" (think that's the title; haven't watched it but once long ago, tho' I have it here in VHS from a garage sale--50c) was one of the best I've seen in a long time. It's also based on a true life story ... guess I like that sort of movie ... in fact, now that you mention it, I wonder why I haven't yet bothered to see 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (Will Smith),since it's a 'real life' movie that I'd planned to see.

Again, thanks. Please remind us nearer that date again, OK? I've seen some early November ads on TV for movies coming out, but not for that one, and it comes out in only three days!

I do realize that. The title just reminded me of that other really neat movie, and I'm suspecting that this one might be good, too. ;)

Sorry, my wife informs me that this movie is "R" rated for bad language and I did not realize this. I just was aware that she and the staff here at her school were excited about going to see it. I have met the teacher whose husband that this film is about.

Go with our earmuffs on, maybe, if the story's OK, in spite of itself? ;)
