A steamer got havary while raugh sea and mighty wind. The captain ordered the crew to inform the passengers to enter the boats, but a foreman of the crew, an officer told him:
"Impossible - they do not like to leave their warm cabins."
"OK, the captain said, I will do it." and after just ten minutes all the passengers have been in the boats.
"How did you?" wondered the officer.
"It was simple,
the british I told, it were for the king,
the germans I told, it were their liability,
the french I told, it were a funny adventure,
the spanish I told, it were for mother church and
the italians I told, it were forbidden."
