How does focusing on others get us out of our own doldrums and pit we are in? Many times when we are feeling down, when we pray just for ourselves, and when we think about just our problems, it doesn't seem to help. We remain in the pit. How does prayer for others and their situation seem to lift us? Can God, and does God use this to make us a blessing to others?

Ian, these are ways it doesn't help. What are ways that it does help?

I think by praying for others it hekps you to e a blessing. Putting others first is always helpful. I have a loooonnnnnggg list of unsaved people to pray for. Sometimes it feels less overwhelming if I pray for a friends unsaved loved ones.

Can our own perception not only color, but ruin our ability to be effective in ministry?
