Today is some years ago a friends son, a young Oklahoma State Trooper was killed in the line of duty. So we can imagine this is not a happy day for that family. Maybe as you give thanks you can pray for them?

My husband is a pastor. Got a call 3AM
One of the Ladies at church, her son Chris took his own life.
Hung Himself. Please pray for this family.
Death is sad enough, holiday time making it even more sad.
Please keep this family in your prayers.

Praying for the hurting!

My dad passed away shortly before Thanksgiving in '76. Traditionally we ate our turkey, etc, at 11 a.m. as quail season started at noon. We went hunting with dad, then returned to the house for leftovers. After we grew up, opening day came earlier, but we still ate early and went hunting, then back for leftovers.

After his death we still hunted quail, but not on T-giving day. We continued to get together, however, and enjoy the day and the memories. Dear bro and I get together in the summers now. Son in law is cooking the turkey, and we go there very soon.

Different? Yes. But still so very good and so very blessed. I am so blessed that the earliest memory of Dad I have is of him reading me the New Testament while I am still in my crib. And some day we will both be attending a great feast served in the Master's house.

Good memories, and more to be made!
