It is just past 12:30 p.m. CST. My dressing is ready to go in the oven. I have everything sitting on the counter to cook corn chowder and make gravy. We bought three pies, this year. And, I am still tired. ha I don't know what all the girls will bring. Oh, yes, we cooked the green beans last night.

Our granddaughter came in around midnight last night. Her brother came in around 1:30 p.m. yesterday, and we are waiting for Philip to get in from Nashville. We planned our meal late on purpose.

Dwayne is making fresh coffee for us to drink now, and then he will find an appropriate scripture to read. Maybe, he will expound a little, also.

A black lady, who pastors the Hispanic church in Memphis sings: "God is so good to me, so very good to me, etc." and then she says "I won't complain."

I found a tee shirt a couple of years ago, that said, "I won't complain" and gave it to her. And, GOD IS SO GOOD TO US!

Happy Thanksiving Anne and Dwayne and other naznetters.

We always go to my uncle's home on Thanksgiving evening. This year I have made pumpkin bars and Heavenly Hash (which is a fruit salad dish).

I am so thankful for God's blessings on me and my family. Please remember me and my Mother is prayer.

Marsha, you really look good in that color--just like you do in any color-speaking of your avatar.

Anne,

Please post your recipe for your corn chowder. What I make that is calle corn chowder is a soup that my grandmother always made.

Barb, I will have to look for my corn chowder recipe. You add chicken broth to your corn, and thicken it a little with an egg. The recipe calls for cutting up the stems of green onions in it, also. Now, I like to add 2-3 eggs, and make it thicker than soup. I don't do this often, considering that I am only allowed three eggs per week in my diet.

I make mine in the micro-checking it a few times, until it is the consistancy that I desire it to be. Also, I use chicken bouillon cubes to make the broth, if I do not have broth. I did not get to make it Thanksgiving. Philip ran out of gas, and I went with Dwayne to help him. The girls mixed frozen creamed corn with a can of corn, and that was good.
Tomorrow is Dwayne 69th birthday. We plan to celebrate it Thursday night. So, Lord willing, I will be making a carrot. Last year, I begged him to make the cake. I was just swamped with responsibilities, one being arranging flowers for the church for the Christmas season. He said that he was not going to make his own birthday cake. ha

Thank the Lord, I finished the arrangements for the church for this year today. I am supposed to make a BIG pot of spaghetti for Saturday, to seve at the church after a funeral, and buriel. I felt so overloaded. Jeanne volunteered to do the spaghetti for me. I went to Millington, intending to buy arrangements already made, but didn't. I knew that I would be better satisfied with my own.
Then, Saturday, we will be heading to Arkansas, again. Let's see, what age is it that we get to retire? ha
